Day 1: Fly into Perth and spend the night at tasty Alex Hotel in cultured Northbridge. Have dinner at the hotel’s Italian restaurant, Shadow Wine Bar & Dining Room.
Day 2-3: Pick up your on-loan wheels. Start your WA road trip by driving south to Bunbury, where you can join a dolphin cruise, then on to Margaret River.
Day 7–9: On the drive to Fremantle, stop off at Porongurup National Park, then explore Fremantle, rich in maritime history. Head north towards Cervantes, pausing to look for koalas at Yanchep National Park. Drive on to Geraldtown, known for its dazzling beaches, and keep going for Kalbarri, at the mouth of the Murchison River, home to dramatic river gorges and swimming bays. Spend the night.
Day 10–12 Discover Kalbarri National Park, then travel up to Monkey Mia on Dolphin Beach, home to a research centre for bottlenose dolphins and tiger sharks. Stop off on the way at Hamelin Pool, Shell Beach and Eagle Bluff. Feed the dolphins at Monkey Mia and join a cultural tour to learn about the area’s indigenous history
Day 13–14 Start the journey back to Perth, stopping overnight at Geraldtown. Try some local western rock lobster. Back in Perth, have a barbecue in Kings Park, visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia and have a memorable meal at Co-Op Dining, where you can try five or 10 courses that champion local, seasonal produce, served in an informal setting.
Day 15: Fly back home from Perth to London.
