Day 1: Fly into Cairns with Singapore Airlines and drive to Port Douglas, an hour away, for juicy QT Port Douglas, home to a fun-loving restaurant and bar, plus colour-pop rooms.
Day 2–3: Spend some time lazing on eye-bogglingly beautiful Trinity Beach (a 40-minute drive from Port Douglas).
Day 4: Go on a day-long guided tour of Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and Daintree Rainforest.
Day 5: Set off on a helicopter flight above the Great Barrier Reef, waving at whale sharks, manta rays and bathing belles.
Day 6–8: Hop on a plane to Darwin (flight time: two hours, 35 minutes) for some Northern Territory adventures. Kick things off with a safari run by Lords Kakadu & Arnhemland Safaris, which specialises in high-octane trips for small groups.
Day 9: If you’re here between April and October, visit Mindil Beach Sunset Market, browsing the food stalls, arts and crafts and looking out for performances by local musicians. Alternatively, hit Paraps Markets (held Saturdays) in the Parap Village Shopping Precinct. Grab brunch or lunch here, too.
Day 10–12: Catch an alfresco flick at Deckchair Cinema, then make the short flight (half an hour) to Bamurru Plains, where you’ll spend two nights in a boutique bungalow with prime croc-spotting potential.
Day 13: Fly back to Darwin; fly from Darwin home to London.
